Date Sheet for Class X and Class XII Board Examinations, 2027
Subject: Date Sheet for Class X and Class XII Board Examinations, 2027
Madam/Sir,
The Date Sheets for the Class X and Class XII Board Examinations are of significant importance for students, schools, and other stakeholders. Date sheets are prepared based on the data submitted in the List of Candidates (LOC) by the schools. As the LOC submission process has been completed and the Board now possesses the final data regarding subject combinations opted by students, CBSE has finalized the Date Sheets for the Board Examinations scheduled to commence from 16 February 2027 (Tuesday). In Class X, students will appear in 83 subjects and in Class XII, students will appear in 121 subjects. The Date Sheets are being released 101 days in advance of the commencement of examinations.
While preparing the Date Sheets, the following factors have been carefully considered:
1. Adequate gaps have been provided between examinations of subjects commonly offered together by students in both Class X and Class XII.
2. The tentative schedules of major entrance examinations for Class XII students have been taken into account. Every effort has been made to complete the Board Examinations well before the commencement of such entrance examinations, enabling students to manage their preparation effectively.
3. The number of candidates appearing on a particular day at each examination centre has been considered to facilitate smooth conduct of examinations.
4. The examination schedule has been designed to minimize the prolonged absence of teachers from their schools during the evaluation process.
5. More than 40,000 subject combinations have been factored in while preparing the Date Sheets to ensure that examinations of any two subjects opted by a student do not coincide on the same date.
6. All examinations will commence at 10:30 a.m. (IST).
The early release of the Date Sheets has been made possible due to the timely submission of LOCs by schools. Issuing the Date Sheets well in advance will provide several benefits, including:
1. Students will have sufficient time to plan and organize their examination preparation, thereby reducing examination-related anxiety and enhancing performance.
2. Students, their families, and teachers will be able to plan their engagements and travel during the summer vacation period in accordance with the examination and evaluation schedules.
3. Teachers will not remain away from their schools for extended periods, ensuring that the academic activities of non-board classes continue without disruption.
Schools will be able to undertake academic planning and support measures for Board classes more effectively.
5. Schools designated as examination centres will have adequate time to make the necessary arrangements and plan their institutional activities accordingly.
6. A total of over 19.8 lakh students in Class XII and over 26.5 lakh students in Class X have registered for the 2027 Board Examinations.
